This article is about throwing the best college party you’ve ever seen!
A good party is the best part of college. You know, that’s the whole point of college.
Haha, I was just kidding. It was five years for me to complete my college education.
How do you throw a party in a dorm room?
To have a successful dorm night, you must first make sure that your dorm room is clean. Because who wants to be in another person’s dirty room? Another reason is that your belongings are more likely to be lost or damaged if they are organized properly. It’s much easier to clean up spilled drinks on your desk if it isn’t cluttered with your textbooks, books, clothes, and other items. A dirty room can make your dorm space seem smaller.
Keep your RA on the right side.
It is difficult to throw successful dorm parties that aren’t shut down by your resident assistant (RA) within minutes. My advice to you is to get to know and trust your RA. Some RAs will not mind you throwing a party, as long as the noise is controlled. Some RAs are strict and won’t tolerate alcohol or parties in their dorms.
Before you throw a party at your dorm, be sure to review the policies and speak to your RA. You don’t want to be written up!
Put Your Valuables Away!
This is so very important! My college best friend hosted a party at my place. At the end of the party, her speaker, laptop, and skateboard were gone!
She lost so much money!
Worst of all, there weren’t any security cameras, so she couldn’t even recover the stolen items. It’s not a good idea to leave valuables at home at a college party with crazy (and sometimes broke) students.
Let Your Neighbors Know
Here’s my suggestion. Invite your neighbors to your party so they don’t snitch! HAHA! I mean, you gotta do what you gotta do!
If they aren’t interested in having a party with you, be respectful! Tell them when your party begins and ends and ask them if they are okay with you playing music. Most people will allow you to have a party next to their house, except if it’s during finals week. You get what I’m referring to! It’s college! You shouldn’t make the walls vibrate by blasting the music too loud.
Create a Playlist
Playing music is something you will want to do, but not too loud. It’s a good idea for everyone to have a set of songs in advance so that they don’t waste time searching through your phone all night. Be sure to include songs everyone can recognize and not play any slow or sad tracks.
Dorm Party Games and Activities
You can make your guests feel more comfortable if they don’t know each other well. These are some activities and games you should try at a college party.
Never Have I ever drank a game.
Another game we enjoyed playing at parties was “Never have you ever.” This game is a great icebreaker and can get quite raunchy. You have two options: the family-friendly or adult version. Whatever suits your mood.
The Classic Beer Pong
Beer pong is a simple yet classic game that you can play at college parties. It’s a classic game that you will see in many “coming-of-age” Hollywood college movies. You just need a long table with a few red cups, and you are good to go. You don’t need to know the rules. Here are the rules.
