TTY Mode On iPhone: Learn How To Set The Timer

We all know that texting can be a great way to stay in touch with friends and family, but did you know that you can also have the luxury of using a TTY (text on phone) mode on your iPhone? TTY mode allows you to use your iPhone’s text messaging capabilities while on the go. Texting is a great way to stay connected with others, but unfortunately it isn’t always convenient for everyone. In particular, if you’re travelling through an airport or bus terminal, it can be difficult to send messages like “I’m at the gym” or “I’m at the track.” By using a TTY mode, though, you can text your friends and family any time.
If you aren’t familiar with how text messaging works on iPhones, it’s pretty simple. Basically, your phone has three major parts: the display, the keypad, and the phone’s speaker. The display is what you see when you first turn your iPhone on. When you press the Home key, then your display will change from the iPhone’s usual monochrome to colorful iPhone-blue. The keypad will change from a spacebar design to a QWERTY keyboard. Finally, your earpiece will add a nice visual effect, as it will light up in many different colors depending on whether it is awake or not.
It’s really very easy to navigate through your iPhone using this mode. Just as you would use your keyboard to send a message, you can do it with your iPhone. And because your display is showing the words as they are typed, it’s much easier to read than a normal text message. Even if you’re on the road, TTY mode can make it much easier to get all of your messages across to whoever you need them to.
But what if you need to be away from your iPhone? How do you access the phone’s TTY capability? Luckily, you don’t have to leave your iPhone on the airplane or even at home. Because many new phones have a USB port that can be used to charge your phone, you can easily plug in your iPhone and use TTY.
If you don’t already have a USB cable for your phone, you may need one. It’s usually included in your cell phone. A quick search on Google should give you some good options. Once you’ve purchased a cable, you should be able to see TTY mode in the Applications section of your phone’s menu. You can even tap on it if you’re on an airplane to make it easier to contact people while you’re traveling.
Some phones only let you use the AT&T TTY mode service for SMS messages. You should check your phone’s manual or call their customer support to find out if they support TTY for MMS (text messages) too. Most likely, the answer is no, but that doesn’t mean you can’t ask. You can always use an alternate method when you’re not on a smart phone or with TTY mode.
In order for your phone to recognize your touch input, it needs to recognize what you are touching. You can set this mode by going to General Settings > Accessory and then selecting “touchscreen-enabled phone”. By setting this up, your phone will think that any buttons or scrolling menus that you press will actually be part of the screen.
Using the touch screen while you’re driving can be difficult. Even if you’re just talking on the phone, you can inadvertently hit something or scratch the glass. You might not even realize that you did it until your phone sends you a signal that you can change the settings. To avoid these problems, take the time to learn how to use the tty mode on iPhone. You’ll be glad you did.
